On the last evening of the year, a little girl strikes matches in a freezing street. In each brief flame she sees what her life so badly lacks: warmth, a home and love.
Full description
While people behind the windows prepare to celebrate, a little match seller remains alone in the wintry city. For a few moments, the faint flame restores a sense of closeness and hope.
Andersen’s sorrowful tale of compassion and human warmth. The ending is tragic: choose it for thoughtful listening and conversation, rather than as a carefree bedtime story.
